NON-PROFIT PROGRAMS WE SUPPORT

Sunset Survival actively participates in ongoing efforts to help out in the local and global communities. Following is a partial listing of non-profits we have recently partnered with:

Trauma Intervention Programs, Inc. (TIP), Orange County Chapter (California)
- Survival and first aid kits, as well as gift items, for “Heroes with Heart” awards dinner, which supports the organization in assisting first responders and the community they serve.

Orange County Food Bank (Orange County, California)
- Over 800 pounds of food and toiletries, including Thanksgiving turkeys, fresh fruit, snack foods, crackers, cereal bars, survival bars, energy drinks, food bars, pet food, toothpaste and diapers. During the holidays, we provided over 1,000 ice cream cones to accompany a large donation of ice cream just received.

1st and 2nd Annual Huntington Beach Disaster Preparedness Expo, sponsored by Huntington Beach (CA) Fire Dept & HB-CERT (2010, 2011) – Hundreds of emergency preparedness brochures, survival supplies checklists, pet owner pamphlets, teaching DVDs and children’s learning activity books at this yearly event; hosted a booth for local residents to learn about and obtain supplies for their emergency kits.

Sunset Beach Emergency Preparedness Expo, Sunset Beach, CA (2010, 2011)
- Disaster preparedness pamphlets, emergency food and water brochures, earthquake preparedness information; hosted a booth for residents to learn about and purchase emergency kits.

SoCal (formerly Surf City) Animal Response Team, Huntington Beach, CA (2011)
- Reflective pet safety vests, lighted collars and leashes, first aid kits, emergency pet food, hand sanitizer and purified water pouches for their annual Pet Fair in the Park in Long Beach, CA, as well as their ongoing animal rescue work.

Bolsa Chica Wetlands and Wildlife Care Center, Huntington Beach, CA
- Fresh fruit and pet food to feed sick and injured wildlife; blankets and comforters to create beds for recuperating pelicans and orphaned raccoons; office supplies and snacks for volunteer staff.

Red Cross Family Day, Santa Ana, CA, 2011
- Emergency kit supplies checklists, earthquake facts sheets and disaster preparedness brochures; hosted a booth for attendees to learn about and purchase earthquake kits and supplies.

Ocean View High School, Huntington Beach, CA
- Gift baskets for Grad Night prizes at this local high school.

Katherine Elementary School, Simi Valley, CA
- Paper, pens, pencils, markers and other office supplies for students, teachers and the office staff.

Huntington Beach Community Emergency Response Team (HB-CERT), 2010
- Emergency grab and go kits for each new CERT graduate.

Huntington Beach Police Department (HBPD), Huntington Beach, CA
- First aid supplies and survival kits, as well as emergency planning and preparedness brochures, at events honoring those who volunteer with the Huntington Beach Police throughout the year.

Working Wardrobes, Orange County, CA
- New clothing, accessories and toiletries to this local non-profit. Working Wardrobes provides working attire and job interview outfits to assist those referred by social services agencies in re-entering the work force.

Golden West College Peace, Mind & Body Club, International Peace Day 2011
- Survival and first aid kits, gift certificates, and photo note cards featuring local photography, for silent auction at Bands and Bellies VIII concert to benefit Newport Beach-based non-profit Living Ubuntu for trauma-prevention workshops & global humanitarian efforts.

Giving Children Hope, Buena Park, CA
- Hundreds of pounds of first aid kits, medical supplies, bandages, medical equipment, food and toiletries for global relief efforts.

“We’ve Got Your Back” program, Orange County, CA
- Nutritious snacks and drinks for homeless elementary school children.

A Harvest of Hope, Orange County, CA, June 2011
- Donated a portion of our sales to help provide food and necessities to needy local families.

Friends of the Library, Huntington Beach and Orange County Public Libraries
- Stacks of books and CDs have been provided to various locations throughout the area.

Glendale Memorial Hospital Gift Shop, Glendale, CA 
- Paperback and hardback books to help raise funds for nursing scholarships, and to contribute to a place for people to browse and relax while waiting in the hospital lobby.

Huntington Beach Relay for Life, Huntington Beach, CA 
- Survival and first aid kits, as well as gift certificates, for the Relay kick-off fundraiser – the event raised over $4,100 for the American Cancer Society.

Orange County Humane Society, Huntington Beach, CA
- Lighted pet leashes and collars, pet ID tags and treats to help dogs and cats in shelters.

Huntington Beach Council on Aging, Senior Outreach, Senior Santa & Friends
- Toiletries, emergency light sticks, snacks and candy canes for holiday gift baskets.

USO
- Donated a portion of our sales to help support the USO in providing aid to our military troops abroad.

Haiti and Chile Earthquake Relief 
Over 400 lbs of first aid kits and medical equipment, food, toiletries, energy drinks and batteries, as well as clipboards and pens for relief workers in the field – We are privileged to partner with Giving Children Hope in their ongoing efforts to get supplies directly into the hands of people in need.
